Happy March and MDC Turns Five!!

Hello there! It is March already and my favorite time of the year. At my Casa we get to celebrate two birthdays this month :)  My Dream Canvas turns 5 this month and I get to celebrate my birthday as well :) I have a list of fun stuff lined up for this month including a Giveaway!!!

My Dream Canvas is a dream come true for me and thank you each and every one of you for sharing this dream with me!! The image below is my favorite photograph. I take a gazillion pictures almost everyday but this one tops my list. I took this picture on a rainy day at the water temple in Bali. The sketch effect of course is by the very addictive Waterlogue app. I have this photograph framed and hung above my fireplace at home :)

Here's to a new week and exciting times on My Dream Canvas!

My Dream Canvas Wall At Home

Over the years this blog has become such an integral part of me that I cannot do with out it. My passion for photography combined with my love for My Dream Canvas got me thinking.  I was not happy just switching on my laptop to blog! This got me thinking.......I wanted something in my home that was my little "MDC" corner :) I decided to create a wall in my family room with my favorite images from My Dream Canvas. These are all photographs taken by me during my travels and some are vignettes from of my home. Now for the best part.....I don't spend a ton of money on these prints. I get them printed at Costco and they are very inexpensive! I get to change the prints as often as I like. I usually change them every few months. It also very effectively changes the decor and look of this room.

You might think I am self obsessed!! I am guilty as charged :) My obsession though is not with myself but "My Dream Canvas". My blog gives me a reason to smile everyday. I am so grateful for this outlet. I feel honored that so many of you have been a part of this journey with me!

So what do you think of my idea of a "Dream Canvas" wall ?

This is a crusty old lantern which caught my eye in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I love the blue :)

The wall in its entirety. I shall share more pictures soon!

I took this picture in December at Humayun's tomb in Delhi, India.

Fiery Hues Come Close To Home

I am as passionate about photography as I am about home decor, if not more. I am not brilliant at it, but I love taking pictures. My camera is almost always with me as is my handbag :) These days I sit in my car and drive around trying to take pictures of the fall foliage around my neighborhood. Autumn has become my favorite time of the year. When I drive out of my house its like driving into a painting. The fiery hues beckon and I go crazy with my camera. My family is amused to say the least. I am sure the cars that pass me wonder who the crazy woman is standing in the middle of the road :)

Everyone needs a hobby and mine these days is chasing these colorful hues!!

Have a great week my lovely readers and see you around! I took these images on two different days, one day was sunny and the next day it was cloudy and dull.

Friday Musings and Cherry Blossoms

I am popping in to wish you a Happy Friday!  Here is a picture I took of a cherry blossom tree close to home. The cherry blossom trees put up a spectacular show every year and amaze me with their beauty. I think what makes it even more magical is that they are around for such a short while. I am always running around trying to capture their beauty before they fade away for another year:) Yes, I am crazy that way!

Keep on smiling and see you around :)

Colours for the week...

Flipping through the glossy pages of the first issue of the Indian edition of Vogue, I came across some images that I liked.

This colourful, rustic look by Sabyasachi Mukerjee for aza bride.

Very seductive, sensual pictures by Prabuddha Dasgupta for a feature on Traditional Indian Jewellery. Here are some of them...

Have a great colourful week ahead...

Food, Photography & Chai...

* No, no..I am not suffering from the after effects of 'Under the Tuscan Sun....
* Sunday cleaning of my book shelf yielded an amazing result.
* Result being a beautiful cook book gifted by my Mother-in-law few years back.
* What was it doing on a bookshelf for few year? Beats me!
* Italy- The Vegetarian Table by Julia Della Croce.
* Photography by Deborah Jones *Swoon*
* Many 'Colours of my life' in one place- Food, Photography, Exotic Destination (This can't be a coincidence?)
* I mean look at this...her rustic styling, attenion to detail, lighting...transports me to an imaginary world which I guess would be Italy, food cooked by Julia Della Croce, photographed by Deborah Jones and me enjoying all this & sipping my hot cup of chai...
Will be away for a couple of days...will see you in a while...
Take care and enjoy your cup of chai...

One Dancer & One Designer.

Today I posted about Anuradha Vakil's Studio on Rang-Decor.

I just couldn't resist these pics of my favourite Indian Dancer wearing one of my favourite Indian fashion designer's clothes.
