I am completely in love with these plates. I would hang them on the wall with a few other things to create a bright and beautiful collage. These are available at World Market. I am using all my self control..... as I have the urge to go get them right now :)
Well maybe one..... perhaps or two :) What about you?
Do you love them as much as I do ??

For those of you who have been reading My Dream Canvas for a while know that I love anything old and vintage. That includes art and architecture. Somehow the buildings from a bygone era exude romance and beauty that surpasses anything in the present day. Today, we have fancy machines, architects and all the modern equipment available to build impressive buildings. However, in those days all these resources were not around. What amazes me..... is how these buildings were built. It would be a fascinating journey! I often wonder about.....who designed these work of art and who were those workers/artists who created these masterpieces. In those days. the buildings were literally hand built!!
Next week I shall share some pictures of this exquisite building which lies in the midst of a bustling city and has recently been restored! Can any of you guess where this is??
Have an awesome weekend!! I am looking forward to Sunday because of the big game!! Go Hawks!!!

These images have sat in my inspiration folder for the longest time. I am surprised I have not shared it with you till today! This urban loft in London has that vintage, distressed, casual chic look that I love. It has personality and charm and looks so inviting. I can picture myself writing a book here, painting a masterpiece ( yes I daydream) or simply hanging out with family and friends :)
What do you think?

The Shop At My Dream Canvas is my baby!! However, it demands a lot from me. I do everything on my own..... from sourcing, stocking, pricing, marketing etc.....hence it takes me a while to get things up and ready. Finally the second lot of stuff has been photographed and stocked. My treasure chest of handpicked goodies for your home is ready for you:) There are some new finds and some old favorites in this collection. I hope you will love it as much as I do :)

The Korakia Pensione in Palm Springs is my idea of a perfect holiday. It is also the perfect setting for a wedding. I spotted these stunning pictures in the wedding layer blog 100 Layer Cake!

A great way to personalize your home is to weave your memories into your decor. Intrigued?? I will elaborate what I mean! Off late, I have loved visiting homes that are a reflection of their owners. These home owners are not afraid to" get personal". I believe that your decor can fall flat if it does not tell a story.
I have always wanted my home to speak of my personal style. This year, I have literally decided to spell it out :) A beautiful way to tell a story is to create a "heritage display." Collect old photographs and letters of your family and creatively display them around your home. I have diligently been rummaging through closets and albums in my parents' home in Delhi. As a result, I have managed to bring back some lovely heirlooms and photographs to Seattle!
The photographs below are very personal and significant. The lady on the left is my maternal Grandmother (Nani) and her the lady on the right is her sister (Mausi Nani), my Great aunt. In their later years, they both lived with us in my parents home. My Nani was my room mate for years :) They were both incredible women and a great influence in my life. While, I do have a lot of pictures of them, I recently found their wedding pictures. You can imagine my excitement. I love the drama, the clothes, and the romance these pictures exude! This weekend I found the perfect vintage styles frames for these photographs.
These are not necessarily designer decor finds that come with a hefty price tag. However, these are perhaps the best decor additions to my home!! Another important thing to consider is not only what you display, but also how you display it. I took my time finding these perfect frames and I am very happy with the result :) While, photographs are the obvious choice to personalize your home, its still fun to get creative with it :) For me personally, photographs in my home and not just vacation pictures but tell a story about our roots. I believe that my kids will benefit from it.
My home brings me joy and I wish the same for you. I hope your home is a place where you enjoy living with your memories....... and look forward to creating new ones!!
I would love to hear your thoughts on weaving your memories into your decor?

Oh dear! With the fog and chilly temperatures in my neck of the woods, this mountain getaway looks fabulous!!
This home is made up of three traditional Pyrenean farm buildings. The property is a 3 and a half hour drive from Barcelona in the town of Val d' Aran. This picturesque town has 10,000 permanent residents. It starts at the French border and meanders southward for 25 miles, terminating at the Baqueira/Beret ski are. Your neighbors will probably be the rich and famous of Spain, most notably the royal family.
